A New New Deal singled out for important praise

In a story in the The Lake Placid News, Frank Shatz writes:

“Bernard Rapoport, who for years was listed by Fortune magazine as one of America’s 40 most generous philanthropists, and Roger Smith, the current CEO of [American Income Life], select a newly published book each year and sends copies to hundreds of opinion makers across the country. ‘This year’s selection illuminates a path for creating true shared prosperity,’ they wrote. ‘We agree with its premise on the need to return to the basics of organizing at local and regional level. People who live and work and have real ownership in their local communities are far more likely to engage in building a sustainable society.’ The book they are referring to is A New New Deal: How Regional Activism Will Reshape the American Labor Movement by Amy B. Dean and David B. Reynolds.”
